China Crude Imports 11.06mn bpd in May: Customs

China's crude oil imports stood at 46.97 million metric tons, or 11.06 mn bpd in May according to customs data on Friday vs 10.93mbpd in April.

  • Imports for the period from January to May totalled 229.03 million metric tons, down 0.4% from the corresponding period in 2023.
  • Vortexa reported this week that China’s crude imports came in at 10.1mbd in May – a slight improvement from April but down 6% y/y.
