CHINA PRESS: China does not pose a threat to any country and will not damage the
interests of any other country, but it will not allow other countries to harm
its interests either, China Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Lu Kang said
Thursday at a press briefing, responding to claims by the director of the U.S.
Central Intelligence Agency, Michael Pompeo, that China is the biggest long-term
threat for the U.S., China National Radio reported. Pempeo also said in an
interview on the sidelines of a security conference in Aspen, Colorado, this
week that China stole American military and technical secrets through
acquisitions of American technology companies, but Lu responded that the
acquisitions were "normal commercial activities" that occurred within the
workings of the market system. (China National Radio)
