CHINA PRESS: China must fulfil its commitment to reduce taxes and fees by about
CNY2 trillion this year to stabilize corporate expectations, according to
Premier Li Keqiang. The government website reported the Premier's comments from
a meeting with economists and entrepreneurs, where Li said China must insist on
both a proactive fiscal policy with a prudent monetary policy and also drive
down financing costs for private companies. Larger-scale reductions in taxes and
fees and the targeted reserve requirement ratio cut implemented in HI had
already played a key role in cushioning external challenges and stabilizing
growth, the government statement said.
