CHINA PRESS: China should further lower value-added tax rates in time as the
fiscal policy still has space, said Economic Information Daily on Monday. The
value-added tax rate is at a relatively high level, and given that China also
has consumption taxes, China needs to lower value-added taxes to remain
competitive, the report said. China has already stated it would lower
value-added taxes by one percentage point after May 1 this year, the report
said.
