China Zero-COVID Policy Won’t Ease Soon: Times

China is unlikely to abandon its zero-COVID strategy for the moment given the cases are still high, the Global Times said citing an unidentified Center of Disease Control official. Daily case tally in China rose to the highest in two years as the Omicron variant makes it more difficult to maintain the zero-COVID status. The policy may only be adjusted when better vaccines and effective drugs emerge and when infection curves outside China flatten, the newspaper said citing experts.
