CHINA PRESS: China's decision last week to make its southernmost island Hainan
Province a pilot free-trade zone is one of its efforts to actively open itself
up amid rising protectionism and unilateralism in the world, said Economic
Information Daily in a front-page report.
  - Hainan will be a pilot area for China to deepen reform and to further the
opening up of its economy, as the twelfth and biggest free-trade zone in the
nation;
  - More tourists in the province will be able to access duty-free shopping;
  - The province will further open up the service sector, including tourism,
healthcare, education and culture, as well as insurance and transportation;
  ***Comments: Over the weekend, the official Xinhua News Agency also said China
will gradually stop selling gasoline-fueled vehicles in Hainan, replacing them
with new-energy and other environment-friendly cars, as part of the country's
efforts to further upgrade its consumption.
