China’s LNG Imports Down 9% in September

Imports of LNG into China in September fell to 5.69m mt, down 9.7% on the month, according to OilChem citing General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) data.

  • China’s LNG imports across Q1-Q3 totalled 51.46m mt, up 10.1% compared to the same period in 2022.
  • China is expected to cut its imports in October due to ample domestic supply and higher import prices, OilChem said.
  • OilChem estimated Oct. 10 that China’s imports of LNG for October would total 4.18m mt.
