China’s Planned Refined Product Exports in Dec Down 4%: OilChem

OIL PRODUCTS

China’s planned exports of refined products are scheduled at 2.62m mt in December, a drop of 4% on November levels, according to OilChem.

  • Gasoline exports are set to be 670k mt, up 59% on the month. Gasoil exports are down 40% to 450k mt, while kerosene exports are down 3.85% to 1.5m mt.
  • The driver of the fall is the lack of remaining export quotas; volatile export profits have also made some refiners reticent to boost production. Lackluster demand both in China and overseas is also keeping a lid on exports.
  • China’s refined oil exports across the whole of 2023 are estimated to be 40.65m mt, up 6.16m mt on the year.
