China’s Road Fuel Production to Fall 10% in Nov: OilChem

  • China’ production of gasoline and gasoil is expected to each decline by around 10% on the month in November, according to OilChem.
  • Gasoline production will fall 10.3% to 13.59m mt. This is also down 3.62% on Nov. 2022.
  • Gasoil production will see a sharper fall, down 11.7% to 18.59m mt, and down 11.9% on the previous year.
  • Production cuts amongst both products principally the result of falling CDU rates. These have been lowered due to high refinery stocks and expectations of weaker demand. Independent refineries have also cut runs because of falling profits.
  • China’s gasoline and diesel prices have found some support from production cuts, down just 0.43% and 1.55% respectively since the start of the month whereas WTI is down around 1.8%.
  • Prices for road fuels are expected to recover in December, amid rebounding demand and low production.
