CIP Eyes 760MW Spanish Wind Project

Danish investment firm Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) will build a 760MW Spanish wind farm, with the construction phase due to begin shortly, according to Renews.biz.

  • CIP has entered a €700mn turbine contract with firm GE Vernova, with Vernova responsible for the delivery, installation, and commissioning of 125 turbines – each with a capacity of 6.1MW.
  • The agreement also includes a 15-year service contract.
  • The exact date of commissioning is not yet known.
  • Spain is targeting 62GW of wind by 2030, up from almost 30GW at the end of 2023, according to the Spanish wind energy association.
