GILTS: Citi say that the "MPC may take aim at gilts with hawkish rhetoric,
starting tomorrow with a speech from Saunders" and add that the near term risk
for Gilts "is turning more bearish".
- "The MPC is unlikely to be impressed" with 10-year Gilt yield falling back to
1.00%, and is "likely to respond by intensifying hawkish rhetoric", Citi say.
- "Geopolitics aside, the risk of a near-term bearish correction is rising for
gilts. Medium-term, we still believe in a sideways range of around 1-1.25% for
10s, opposing the linearly bearish consensus", Citi conclude.
