CNH: USD/CNH Back sub 7.1200 Amid Fixing Support, US Presidential Debate

CNH

USD/CNH is back sub 7.1200 in latest dealings. We had the negative fixing error earlier, so some lean against recent yuan losses. Also likely helping at the margin is a downtick in Trump election odds as the US Presidential debate unfolds (last at 48, -4, per PredictIT). Harris odds have risen modestly.

  • A firmer yen is also a likely support for the yuan. USD/JPY is testing sub key support at 141.70, amid hawkish BoJ remarks and a downtick in US yields.
  • For USD/CNH earlier highs were at 7.1367. Recent lows in the pair rest under 7.0800.
