CNT/MDA and Modalmais Polls, Copom Decision Next Wednesday

  • General prices measured by IGP-10 inflation fell 0.90%, lower than the -0.5% median estimated value. Next week’s Focus survey will be the final piece of information before the September Copom decision.
  • Currently, all surveyed analysts on Bloomberg are calling for an unchanged decision, however, this is at odds with some expecting a cycle ending 25bp hike to 14.00%. The MNI will be published early next week.

    • CNT/MDA and Modalmais to release electoral polls on presidential race.
  • According to a Datafolha poll published at TV Gobo on Thursday, former-president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva maintained 45% of voting intention for Brazil 1st round in Presidential election, while the incumbent Jair Bolsonaro changed within the error margin, to 33% from 34%.
