COLOMBIA: Activity Data Due Wednesday/Thursday, Ecopetrol Results Due

  • The domestic docket will remain focused on economic activity and production data across both Wednesday and Thursday. Additionally, Thursday will see the latest BanRep survey of economists, set to provide a clearer indication of market bets on whether the central bank will accelerate the pace of policy easing in September.
  • Consensus forecasts point to Ecopetrol’s Q2 revenue falling 2.6% from a year ago. According to Credicorp Capital, the company should report mixed results across segments, generating a flat Ebitda and a decrease in net income from last year. Ecopetrol is expected to report results after market close on Aug. 13 and CEO Ricardo Roa is expected to speak to reporters at 4:15pm local time.
