COLOMBIA: Finance Minister Bonilla To Discuss 2025 Budget In Congress

  • Finance Minister Bonilla is due to meet with lawmakers again from 1500BST(1000ET) today to continue discussing the government’s 2025 budget. Separately, Colombia’s National Business Association ANDI will start a three-day event with business leaders and government officials from 1400BST(0900ET), while Mines and Energy Minister Omar Andres Camacho is scheduled to speak at an energy conference at the same time.
  • On the data front, no major releases are expected today, with the next publication of note being August CPI inflation on Friday. Analysts currently expect headline inflation to slow another 50bp to 6.36% y/y, while core inflation may dip below 7%.
  • In other news, Ecopetrol has said that its Cano Limon-Covenas pipeline has been hit by new sabotage. The army is reported to be securing the zone in Boyaca province so that technical staff can enter the affected area.
