Colombian GDP, Peruvian jobs Data the Highlights Monday

  • Headed into American hours, the greenback is in minor negative territory, however is holding the bulk of the Friday gains. US yields are continuing their slow creep higher, putting the 10y again within range of 3.50%.
  • Global stock markets are in the green, with US futures on the front foot as focus turns to the resumption of debt ceiling negotiations between McCarthy and Biden.
  • The digestion of Turkish election results have been the focus for EM so far Monday, with opposition alliance leader Kilicdaroglu performing more poorly than expected, setting the race up for a run-off on May 28th.
  • Indian import/export numbers, Peruvian jobs and economic activity data and the Q1 GDP release from Colombia are the Latam highlights ahead of the Banxico decision on Thursday.
