Colombian Govt Says Jet Fuel Shortage Resolved

Colombia’s government said that the supply of aviation fuel has normalised after airlines warned of shortages due to a refinery outage in Cartagena, Bloomberg said.

  • The refinery in Cartagena suffered a loss of power over a week ago, but is now operating normally, according to Ecopetrol.
  • Ecopetrol is also importing jet fuel and will be able to meet 100% of demand from Sep. 1.
  • IATA has warned Aug. 25 that some companies had announced the suspension of supply to airlines in some airports, including Bogota, Medellin, and Cartagena.
