Cook Points To More Work To Do On The Inflation Front

FED

Fed Governor Cook notes that the disinflationary process is underway, but stresses that more movement is needed on that front. This came alongside a reiteration of the central bank’s focus on inflation, as she pointed to a labour market that is “doing ok,” with tightness on that front still producing an inflationary impulse. She also points to the need to pay more attention to the credit channel (no real surprise given the recent banking sector tumult).
