Copy of French Nuclear Reactor Availability Falls 3.8GW Amid Strike

French nuclear reactor availability fell further throughout Tuesday by 3.8GW amid strike action, EdF remit data show.

  • Output has been reduced at the Flamanville 2, Blayais 3, St Laurent 1, Paluel 2, Gravelines 5, Cattenom 4 and Dampierre 3 reactors.
  • Total power generation has been reduced by around 10.8GW on Tuesday, RTE data show.
  • Strike action not only affected French power supplies but also the country’s demand which has been around 4GW lower than typically seen during these temperatures according to Kpler.
