BOND SUMMARY
BOND SUMMARY: Core bonds have drifted higher this morning, although have not
fully retraced yesterday's declines.
- After yesterday's vote for a UK election through the Fixed Term Parliament's
Act failed, today we will see another bill brought before the House which will
just need a simple majority to seek a December election. The government favour
Dec 12 but the Lib Dems are expected to table an amendment for Dec 9 to ensure
that the Withdrawal Agreement Bill (WAB) cannot be passed ahead of the election.
Votes are expected some time after 1830GMT today.
- There is no top tier data today with UK money supply / mortgage approvals,
some US housing data and Conference Board consumer confidence data all due for
release.
- TY1 futures are up 0-4 today at 129-09 with Bund futures up 0.23 at 170.93 and
Gilt futures up 0.24 at 132.00.
