- German ZEW disappointment this morning help lift Bunds, but sold off in the
afternoon alongside strong US retail sales data hit Treasuries.
- In the end, German curve steady: 2-Yr yield down 0.1bps at -0.735%, 5-Yr down
0.5bps at -0.6%, 10-Yr down 0.4bps at -0.255%, 30-Yr down 0.9bps at 0.32%.
- Nice day for periphery EGBs, Italy 4+bps tighter to 10-Yr Bunds, with Greece
6.2bps richer following successful launch of new 7-Yr EUR benchmark (yld 1.90%,
E2.5bln size, Books >E13bln).
- BTP buyers unruffled by headlines re alleged Russian backing for Lega Party.
- All eyes after hours on European Parliament vote on Germany`s Von der Layen as
EC president, due to begin 1800CET and end 2000CET.
- EP`s Liberals said this afternoon they will back her, crucial for a majority.
- Euribor is up 1.5 ticks across the strip, light volumes though. Futures:
* Sep Bund futures (RX) up 8 ticks at 172.41 (L: 172.16 / H: 172.68)
* Sep BTP futures (IK) up 40 ticks at 139.05 (L: 138.5 / H: 139.33)
* Sep OAT futures (OA) up 22 ticks at 164.86 (L: 164.57 / H: 165.14)
