Court Accepts $4.5 Billion Lawsuit Against Repsol for Oil Spill

  • A Peru court accepted a lawsuit against Repsol for $4.5 billion after an oil spill near the Lima capital, regulator Indecopi said in a statement. (BBG)
    • Indecopi filed a compensation claim for damages to population.
    • Indecopi said that defendant companies are Repsol, Mapfre Global Risks, Fratelli D’Amico Armatori, Repsol Comercial, Mapfre Peru Compania de Seguros y Reaseguros, Refineria La Pampilla and Transtotal Agencia Maritima.
