Futures, as they usually do, took their lead from U.S. Tsys in after-hours trade, which allowed them to rebound from overnight lows as we moved through the session, although the major contracts finished a little steeper (while Tsys were flatter), drifting away from best levels. YM was -0.5 and XM -2.0 come the bell.
- The local COVID headlines will continue to garner most of the attention on Friday. Elsewhere, supply matters will be at the fore with an auction of A$700mn of ACGB 4.25% 21 April 2026 and the release of the AOFM's weekly issuance slate due. Flash PMI data will also hit, although that isn't usually a market mover in Australia.
