CPI Inflation Expected To Accelerate To 17.7% YoY In August

  • This morning, investors will closely watch the August CPI inflation print, which is expected to accelerate to 17.7% YoY, up from 17.5% in July.
  • The MoM print is likely to continue to decelerate to 0.8% in August (vs. 1.3% in July) following the sharp correction in fuel prices.
  • The CNB will then comment on August inflation data at 1pm CET.
  • This morning, Prague court will being trial of former MP Babis’s fraud case.
  • The Czech government is likely to set a cap on electricity bills for households and impose a windfall tax on some industries to help people and businesses cope with surging energy costs, according to Finance Minister Zbynek Stanjura (BBG).
