Crude Rallies But Still Down on the Day

Crude oil is recovering slightly with Brent up 1$/bbl from a low of 81.89$/bbl on the day but still down on the day.

  • Front month Brent is trading near levels seen early last week before the rally caused by supply outages and the announcement of a Russian production cut in March.
  • Concern for further central bank tightening and a stronger US dollar are pushing prices lower assisted by the expected return to normal operations at the Ceyhan export terminal in Turkey by the end of this week.
    • Brent APR 23 down -2.5% at 82.98$/bbl
    • WTI MAR 23 down -2.9% at 76.2$/bbl
    • WTI-Brent down -0.17$/bbl at -6.53$/bbl
    • Brent APR 23-MAY 23 down -0.03$/bbl at 0.31$/bbl
    • Brent JUN 23-DEC 23 down -0.25$/bbl at 2.45$/bbl
