Spot USD/THB has remained heavy, printing worst levels in six weeks this morning, amid broader risk-on flows. The rate last operates -0.065 at THB33.085.

  • Bears now look for a dip through Sep 15 low of THB32.850, which would clear the way to the 100-DMA at THB32.696. Meanwhile, gains past Oct 18 high of THB33.488 would shift focus to Oct 6 high/round figure of THB33.990/34.000.
  • Thailand's Customs Dept will publish monthly trade data later today. Consensus forecast looks for a slight narrowing in the trade deficit, to $900mn from $1.216bn.
  • PM Prayuth will dial in to a virtual ASEAN summit today, U.S. Pres Biden will also take part.
