CZECHIA: Chamber Of Deputies Approves 2025 Budget In First Reading

CZECHIA
  • The Chamber of Deputies approved the 2025 state budget in first reading, giving a nod to the CZK241bn deficit target. Lawmakers will still be able to shift money between different parts of the budget but won't be able to change the basic parameters of the spending plan.
  • Moneta Money Bank said that it expects a CZK250mn hit to its 2025 income from the increase in the reserve requirement ratio. It said that it should be able to absorb the hit without changing the earning guidance due to better-than-expected progress in cutting costs.
  • Czechia's overall economic confidence slipped to 96.8 this month from 97.0 prior, missing the median estimate of 97.1. Consumer confidence improved to 100.7 from 97.9 (versus 98.1 expected) but business confidence fell to 96.0 from 96.8 (versus 96.9 expected).
