CZECHIA: Financial Market Inflation Expectations Little Changed In September

  • The latest edition of the CNB's Financial Market Inflation Expectations report showed very modest adjustments to one-year-ahead and three-year-ahead inflation expectations. The growth forecast for 2025 was revised a tad lower, while the forecast for the koruna exchange rate "shifted to stronger levels at the one-month horizon but was unchanged at the one-year horizon."
  • E15 reported that Prime Minister Petr Fiala asked STAN leader Vit Rakusan to come up with a candidate for the vacant position of Regional Development Minister by Thursday, so that the PM could interview them on Friday and finalise the appointment next Tuesday. Some of the leading candidates are outgoing Karlovy Vary Governor Petr Kulhanek and Olomouc Governor Josef Suchanek, as well as Deputy Minister Radim Srsen and MP Eliska Olsakova.
  • The government will hold talks with trade unions on wage hikes in the public sector. The talks will get underway at 10:00BST/11:00CEST.
