CZECHIA: Unemployment Stays Unchanged, International Reserves Data On Tap

  • Opposition leader Andrej Babis pushed back against PM Petr Fiala's remark that the new faction in the European Parliament "Patriots for Europe" is a threat to the continent's security and freedom. After the admission of France's National Rally and Italy's Lega to the faction, which also includes Babis' ANO and Hungarian PM Orban's Fidesz, it became the third largest group in the EU legislature.
  • President Petr Pavel leads the Czech delegation to the NATO summit in Washington DC starting today. Czechia has played an important role in coordinating support for Ukraine by launching an initiative to supply foreign-bought ammunition.
  • Czechia's unemployment rate was at 3.6% in June, unchanged from the level recorded in May. The number of vacancies fell by 2,965 to 263,552.
  • The Czech National Bank (CNB) will release data on its foreign reserves through end-June and the volume of currency-market operations in May at 09:00BST/10:00CEST.
