CZK: EUR/CZK Climbs Past 50-DMA

CZK

EUR/CZK has shown above its 50-DMA for the first time since mid-August after repeatedly testing that moving average in the past few sessions. The pair last deals +0.045 at 25.179 and bull look for further gains towards Aug 16 high of 25.276. On the flip side, bears keep an eye on the 25.0 figure.

  • President Petr Pavel will meet with ruling coalition leaders to discuss the current political situation. Pirate Party's Ivan Bartos confirmed that his party will leave the government on Tuesday, while PM Fiala will provide an update on the future of the governing coalition on Wednesday. The Pirates' exit from the government does not put the ruling coalition's parliamentary majority at risk.
  • ANO deputy leader Karel Havlicek said that the party "broke the Senate spell, we will want a representative in the leadership of the upper chamber, and we will do everything so it ceases to be an automat for deviated government proposals." The party for the first time won more than four seats in the upper house.
  • CZGB curve runs a tad steeper; the PX Index has added 0.4%, moving through resistance from Sep 3 high of 1,611 and narrowing in on cycle highs printed in Jul.
