US DATA: Dec durable goods new orders +1.2% vs +2.0% exp, led by +3.3% 
in transport, but reflecting declines in primary metals and machinery. 
- Durable goods ex-trans orders +0.1%, below the +0.2% expected after 
rev up -0.2% in Nov (prev -0.4%).
- Nondefense capital goods new orders +3.7%, but -0.7% ex. aircraft 
after -1.0% in November, a very soft ending to underlying Q4 orders.
- Nondefense capital goods shipments +0.5%, both with and without 
aircraft, a pick up after a Nov decline for ex. air shipments. Overall 
shipments +0.8%.
- Within transport, nondefense aircraft orders +28.4% after +4.5% in    
Nov, while defense aircraft orders -30.5% and the unlisted transport 
components +7.8%, according to an MNI calc. Mtr vehicle orders +2.1%.
