Decent USDCAD Option Expiry For Monday's NY Cut

  • USDCAD is hovering around 1.347 having held a lift off lows of 1.3424 almost as a mostly sluggish retail sales report hit before a second wind higher as WTI reversed early gains.
  • There’s no discernible change in CAD’s relative standing on the day, middle of the pack as it lags other high beta peers.
  • It yesterday stopped just short of resistance at 1.3527 (20-day EMA) with gains deemed corrective and support at 1.3381 (Sep 19 low).
  • Monday sees decent cumulative option expiry for the NY cut averaging at slightly lower strikes, with $538m at 1.3405, $565m at 1.3425 and $556m at 1.3472.
