Defence Min-Ukrainian 'Terror Attack' In Belgorod Repelled

Russian state-run RIA reporting that the Russian Defence Ministry has stated that its forces have prevented a Ukrainian attempt to carry out a 'terror act' in the Belgorod oblast that borders Ukraine. Claims that Ukrainian forces have been driven back and that Russia has not allowed the Ukrainian forces to violate the border. Defence Ministry says that its forces have thwarted three attacks on the Belgorod oblast.

• A number of attacks on Russian territory have taken place in recent weeks. Rather than Ukrainian forces it is anti-Putin Russian paramilitary groups based in Ukraine that are seen to have carried out the attacks.
• The increasing frequency of attacks on Russian regions bordering Ukraine, as well as the drone attacks on Moscow earlier this week, is unlikely to materially affect the course of the war in general but could begin to impact Russian civilian morale if attacks continue en masse.
