Delivered Russian Urals to India Above Price Cap

OIL

Flagship Urals crude delivered to India seen priced well above price cap according to Argus pricing data.

  • The delivered price of the grade to India’s west coast — including shipping costs — was more than $73 a barrel as of April 6.
  • The recent price spike in oil was initially driven by falling Kurdish supplies which remain disrupted before OPEC+ voluntary cuts sent prices surging.
  • Buoyant Russian volumes on the market have kept a lid on crude benchmarks this year, with little sign of 500,000 bpd production cuts filtering through to flows yet on a sustained basis.
