US: Democratic Caucus Chair Congressman Hakeem Jeffries tells reporters in a

press conference that House Democrats have been discussing the "outlines" to a

fiscal package that "we may need to provide to the American people as the

coronavirus continues to take hold." Congressman Don Beyer of the Joint Economic

Committee says "we are in talks" to to further respond. "More can be done and

there are a lot of good economic proposals out there." Beyer said direct

payments will be part of the options going forward, because a payroll tax will

not provide much help to retail, service industry, and gig economy workers.
