Deputy FinMin Patkowski Plays Down Recession Concerns

POLAND

Poland's Deputy Finance Minister Patkowski told newswire PAP that he expects Poland's 2023 GDP growth to reach 1% or slightly above that.

  • "In the current environment, many things can happen (...) but considering Q3 readings and some market optimism seen over the past 3-4 weeks - we will see if it is here to stay (...) we can assume that there will be no recession, but a GDP growth of around 1% or even above 1%."
  • Poland's draft 2023 budget assumes the economic growth of +1.7% Y/Y.
