Diesel Cracks Follow Crude Higher

Diesel cracks are following the crude market and rallying to recover the losses from yesterday.

  • Diesel demand in Florida has soared ahead of the arrival of hurricane Ian. The hurricane has already dented US Gulf production with BP and Chevron announcing shut ins at offshore platforms this week.
  • US Gasoline cracks are steady today after rallying yesterday with low supplies on the West Coast and Midwest. Unplanned refinery shutdowns and scheduled maintenance are adding to existing low stock levels.
    • US 321 crack up 0.6$/bbl at 31.01$/bbl
    • US gasoline crack up 0.4$/bbl at 19.8$/bbl
    • US ULSD crack up 1.8$/bbl at 53.51$/bbl
    • EU Gasoline-Brent down -0.7$/bbl at 6.89$/bbl
    • EU Gasoil-Brent up 2.2$/bbl at 36.59$/bbl
