Direct Line: New CFO, Could Point To Changes After Ageas' Recent Bid

Direct Line is appointing a new CFO which wasn’t expected but could be an indication it is shoring up defences against takeover after the recent (failed) bid from Ageas. Doesn’t look like a spread mover but a fluid situation to monitor. (DLG LN)


  • Jane Poole is joining from Aviva, where she’s been the CFO of its UK & Ireland general insurance business since 2021. Prior to this, she spent 15yrs at RSA, culminating in CFO of its UK & International business.
  • Neil Manser had been CFO since 2021 when he took over from Tim Harris who took leave around a family member’s medical treatment. Manser had been chief strategy officer, prior to this.
