DNO Recovers Tawkee Output After Flooding

OIL

Norway’s DNO temporarily reduced production at its Tawkee field in the Kurdistan region in the second half of March due to flooding, but operations have since then recovered, the firm said.

  • Field production dropped from above 80kbpd to 65kbpd during ten days in late March with production recovering to pre-flood levels as of 30 March.
  • DNO negotiated with its customers to slightly raise the Tawke/Peshkabir prices to the mid-$30s/bbl level, amid shortages of heavier crudes in the region.
  • Prior to the shortage, the firm was selling its crude in the low-mid $30s/bbl levels, it said in January.
  • Pipeline exports to Turkey from the fields in the Kurdistan region remain halted since end-March 2023. DNO pumped around 95kbpd from the Tawke and Peshkabir fields in the Tawke licence before the pipeline's shutdown.
