Domestic Focus Remains On Thursday's CPI Data

  • There have been no headlines over the major newswires regarding a seminar organized by Sofofa and the UDD with finance minister, Mario Marcel and BCCh President Rosanna Costa. Chile CPI on Thursday continues to be a focus for domestic markets and will be the key ingredient in shaping expectations for the final BCCh meeting/decision to take place on December 19.
  • Pending final approval by congress, Chile’s government have agreed with public sector worker unions to raise wages by 4.3% effective Dec. 1. The government agreed also to raise wages for assistants and technicians, as well as annual bonuses, by 4.8%, according to the Finance Ministry in an emailed statement on Tuesday.
