Door Still Open To Future Hikes, Financial Stability Concerns Dominate For Now

The RBI decision to hold rates, looks to be somewhat of a hawkish hold. While the decision to pause today was unanimous, 5 out 6 board members stated that the withdrawal of accommodation would remain the RBI's focus point. RBI Governor Das also pointed out the decision to hold is for this meeting only and that the central bank won't hesitate to act at future meetings. Financial stability concerns appear to be main driver behind today's pause decision.
