Dos Bocas to Run at Full Capacity in Late March: Pemex CEO

Pemex’s Dos Bocas refinery, Mexico, will begin producing commercial fuel in the coming weeks and reach max capacity by the end of March according to its CEO Octavio Romero Oropeza via X on Saturday.

  • He said the refinery will first produce diesel, then regular gasoline.
  • “We are very excited because in a few more weeks this great refinery, this great work, will begin commercial production,” he said.
  • Independent observers have said the refinery should only reach full production rates in late 2024 or 2025 having faced numerous delays and setbacks.
  • The refinery has been ramping up since September.
