DOLLAR: DXY sits at 96.30, virtually unchanged on the day, after dropping 3 pips
Tuesday, as USD traded mixed across the G10 currency board. Both WTI & gold
trade flat at writing. 
- Worth noting Senator Mitch McConnell agreed for a vote on competing proposals
coming from either side of the aisle that would reopen the gov't, due to take
place Thursday. Neither motion is expected to pass the Senate. 
- Initial resistance noted at 96.48, where the dollar index peaked yesterday,
followed by the 50-DMA at 96.58. On the downside, initial focus falls on
yesterday's low of 96.22, ahead of the 21-DMA/100-DMA at 96.12/09. 
- U.S. highlights this week include initial jobless claims, as well as flash Jan
m'fing & services PMI figures due Thursday, while the speakers slate is empty
amidst the Fed's blackout period ahead of next week's MonPol decision.
