E-Minis Under Pressure To Start The Week

EQUITIES

E-minis futures are off of worst levels, but the 3 major contracts are still 0.6-0.7% below Friday’s settlement levels. There hasn’t been much in the way of positive news flow to offset some of the negative weekend headlines, with the latter including continued focus on fresh western sanctions on Russia, a North Korean missile launch & Chinese Premier Li sounding the alarm on the Chinese labour market. Elsewhere, participants are also aware of the potential for a fresh Russian announcement re: Ukraine, with Russian President Putin set to provide an address during the country’s annual Victory Day parade later on Monday.
