US TSYS: Early Asia-Pacific trade saw T-Notes stick to a tight range as Fed
Vice-Chair Clarida offered little fresh, as he once again stressed the need for
patience re: MonPol as the economy is in "a good spot", and pointed to policy
space to deal with any potential economic shocks, while reiterating that the Fed
has made no final decision on its balance sheet as of yet. A modest bid crept
into the space as Chinese equities ran out of steam (for the time being), while
India-Pakistan tensions picked up, and the FT reported that "a group of senators
have written to Rick Perry calling on the U.S. energy secretary to ban solar
equipment made by Huawei saying the Chinese tech group's equipment poses a
national security threat to the U.S.' critical energy structure."
- MUFG announced a potential 5-tranche USD round of issuance.
- The Eurodollar strip trades unch. to 2.5 ticks higher through the reds.
- Fed Chair Powell will deliver his semi-annual testimony to congress today, at
the altered time of 14:45 GMT, 09:45 Eastern. Elsewhere delayed Dec housing
starts and building permits data will cross.
- T-Notes last 122.06+, U.S. 10-Year cash Tsy yields last 2.650%.
