EC Approves State Aid For Hydrogen Value Chain Projects

The European Commission approved up to €1.4bn of state aid by seven members states for the fourth Important Project of Common European Interest, IPCEI, in the hydrogen value chain, it said in a statement.

  • The project, under the name of ‘IPCEI Hy2Move', was jointly prepared by Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Slovakia and Spain.
  • The funding will be provided by the member states and is expected to unlock additional €3.3bn in private investments.
  • The project will cover a wide part of the hydrogen technology value chain including transport technologies.
  • The EC said 11 companies, including Airbus, BMW and Michelin, will take part in 13 projects.
