ECB Fines Banca Popolare di Vicenza for Regulatory Breaches

     PARIS (MNI) - The European Central Bank said Friday it had imposed
penalties of E11.2 million on the failed Banca Popolare di Vicenza for breaching
regulatory requirements. 
     Banca Popolare di Vicenza is currently in compulsory administrative
liquidation after the ECB decided in June it was failing. 
     The central bank said a penalty of E8.7 million was imposed for breaches of
quarterly reporting and annual  public disclosure requirements. An additional
E2.5 million fine was imposed for a breach of the large exposures limit, the ECB
said.
