Economic Activity Data For April Scheduled

  • Statistics agency INDEC reports economic activity index data for April, the official monthly GDP proxy, due at 2000BST/1500ET. Analysts surveyed by Bloomberg estimate declines of 1.2% m/m and 0.8% y/y for the period. It will also publish the wage index for April.
  • The government faces a $2.7 billion payment deadline Friday to the International Monetary Fund, while details on the new program with the multilateral organization for the next six months have yet to emerge. Earlier this week, it was announced that Argentina will pay the IMF using special drawing rights and Chinese yuan, according to La Nacion newspaper.
