Economy Minister Reiterates The Government Will Meet Debt Obligations

  • Economy Minister, Martin Guzman, reiterated yesterday on Twitter that the government will not default on its peso debt.
    • Inflation-linked debt fell at the end of last week amid anxieties about the government’s ability to pay. It is worth noting that on Tuesday the Treasury will have to face a key tender for its debt notes in pesos. (BBG)
  • Guzman also said that due to the cancellation of his flight he will not be able to attend the PDAC mining forum in Toronto, Canada, and that he will participate virtually.
  • Today, President Alberto Fernandez will announce a new salary hierarchy for scientists at Casa Rosada.
  • The domestic data focus will be on tomorrow’s May CPI report where headline annual inflation is expected to rise to 60.6% from 58% in April.
