Economy Ministry Announces Fresh Budget Freeze of BRL 5.7B

  • The Brazilian Economy Ministry have announced a new budget freeze of 5.7b reais, according to Ministry’s press office; which will total 15.4b reais in 2022.
  • Central government primary surplus estimate increased to 23.4b reais in 2022 against a previous estimate was 13.5b reais.
  • Ministry expects an increase of 23.1b reais in country’s revenues for 2023. The estimate for the 2023 primary deficit was reduced to 40.4b from 63.5b. (Bloomberg)
